NASCAR Inspector Brienne Davis Dies In Traffic Accident Tuesday.
I am sad to report that NASCAR Inspector Brienne Davis was killed in a traffic accident Tuesday.
Brienne Davis, 28, was killed in a traffic accident Tuesday. She was an inspector for NASCAR.
She was traveling north on Interstate 77 between Charlotte and Huntersville when her truck was hit by a car. She lost control of her truck. It flipped and then came to rest in the median. She was airlifted to a local hospital where she died.
At the age of 22 she left her home state of Louisiana and came to North Carolina. She found work at DEI as an engine builder. In 2004, she joined NASCAR as a full time inspector.
She was a long time friend of Tony Stewart. In the past year their relationship appeared deeper than just than friendship. They were spotted together at Tony's track, Eldorado Speedway, in June, 2007.
NASCAR released the following statement late Tuesday: "We are deeply saddened at the loss of NASCAR Sprint Cup official Brienne Davis. She was a key member of our team of inspectors and will be missed by the NASCAR community. "
