Said I Loved You... But I Shouldn't Have
The two things I got out of attending today's Sprint Cup race at Infineon Raceway are a sunburn and a knee that keeps painfully popping in and out. I'm thinking the latter is due to kicking myself for spending money on attending the aforementioned.
Silly me, thinking and telling you based on that thought today's race would be a good one. It wasn't. The only difference between it and most every other race this year was the turning right in addition to left portion of the proceedings. Other than that, same old same old: on-track lead passes solely as a result of the leader having mechanical woes, get in front stay in front interminable boredom. Whoopeedamndoo.
No, this isn't based on Kyle Busch winning. He's the hot hand in the hot rod. He deserves the win. That duly noted, don't we who are fans deserve something more than a three hour plus parade? I'd like to think so. NASCAR used this as an excuse to yell at the drivers for telling the truth about how dreadful racing is in the new car, but it's quite obvious they could care less about the quality of racing if doing so means whispering the slightest slight against their precious.
Getting real tired of this week in and week out, y'know?
