Doesn't have anything to do with NASCAR, but it's at least auto related.  On the freeway this morning, a Highway Patrol car started running a traffic break directly in front of Mrs. Dude and I.  As he slowed to a stop, the reason why became apparent: a long length of chain in the lane to our left.  We dutifully eased to a stop, the CHP car half in our lane and half in the lane to our left... where it was smacked into by some joker in a pickup who slammed on the brakes, hit the chain, and skidded.

Always good to know you're sharing the road with oblivions, what say?
