RAIN RETURNS TO IMS; FISHER CLOCKS 32 MORE LAPS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR) returned to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway today after a brief two day absence due to persistent rain.  Sarah Fisher ran just 32 laps over about three hours before rain returned to the Brickyard ending her day in the 23rd position.

"This is really unfortunate for us," said Fisher, who will tie Lyn St. James for the most number of starts for a female should she qualify for this year's race.  "We've really been backed into a corner with the weather so far this month and it has affected our plan severely.  We have been unable to execute all the plans we have developed because of the lack of track time.  It's very frustrating for us as a new team.  The car is good but we just need to get a bit faster and that will come with some more track time.  We're still here and we're going to keep digging.  These couple curve balls can't dampen our sprit, we'll still be smiling.  I'm predicting a 229.5 miles per hour pole speed."

SFR rolled out Fisher's No. 67 Honda powered Dallara at approximately 11:30 a.m. in preparation for the second day of practice for the Indianapolis 500 that began at 12:00 p.m.  Essentially the team worked to lighten the aerodynamics of the car, taking down force away as Fisher began to get comfortable behind the wheel.  Reducing drag and trimming the car for Peak Motor Oil Pole Qualifying presented by AutoZone was cut short when light rain returned to the track mid-afternoon.  Fisher clocked just 32 laps to add to her 16 laps from Tuesday's practice session.  Her fastest speed was 221.978 mph.

Fisher drew the 81st position to attempt to qualify for her seventh Indianapolis 500 on Saturday.  Scott Dixon topped the practice charts today with a speed of 226.968, giving him the fastest speed of the month.  Fisher is separated from Dixon by less than a second.

Scott Dixon remains at the top of the speed charts while less than a second seperates him from Sarah Fisher, the 23rd quickest on the day. Thirty-three car/driver combinations have been on track today including Jaime Camara in Enrique Bernoldi's T-car.

Fisher will take to the track at 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. for final practice prior to 12:00 p.m. qualifications.

The 2008 Indianapolis 500 is set for May 25, 2008, at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 92nd running of the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing."  The hallmark IndyCar Series event will be featured through worldwide comprehensive coverage through ABC/ESPN in HD with additional coverage available on the IMS Radio Network and XM Satellite Radio. Broadcast coverage summaries will be available at www.indycar.com and www.brickyard.com.
